My Memorandum endeavours to shew the necessity for an Establishment of at least three Clerks to the Auditor's Apartment as per the Instructions given by the Lords of H.M. Whilst therefore, by the accompanying Memorandum, Your Excellency will perceive that you were kind enough to place the services of Mr. Hance at my disposal, this appointment has been of no avail to me, as Auditor, that young Gentleman being totally unfit for so difficult a post as Clerk and Accountant to the Auditor; still, I have availed myself of Your Excellency's offer in employing him as a copying Clerk for the Clerk of Councils, and as he has given satisfaction, and as the Council work must fall into arrear if he be now removed, I have the honour to request that...
